Surrounded by the charm of Etna, the vineyards of Tenute Mannino are grown on two different sides of the Volcano: in the southern area in Viagrande, contrada Sciarelle for the Cataratto and Carricante vines; in the northern area, in Castiglione di Sicily, districts Pietramarina, Braseggi and Trimarchisa for the vines of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio. The fertile soils, rich in minerals, are distinguished by their sandy nature and their ability to give wines of great finesse and elegance.
Giuseppe Mannino, that was been President of the “Consorzio dell’Etna”, led the transformation of the Winery that has its roots in the Sicilyn Risorgimento, always paying great attention to the sustainability of the territorial ecosystem in the delicate union between the vines and the Volcano. Its history, traditions, knowledge, respect and love have been handed down to his son Giorgio who today leads the Winery projecting it with innovation into the present, a present in which Tenute Mannino is the symbol of the excellence of Etna's wines.
Their wines, strongly identity, in different and equal parts enclose within them the freshness, minerality, citrus scents, sea breeze, power, strength and structure that only this unique and extraordinary territory can give.
The wines produced, expressive of this extraordinary territory are : Aurantica Etna Bianco, Arì Etna Rosé, Placo Etna Rosso, Placo Etna Rosso Riserva and Caterina di Plachi Brut classic method.
